Delete Your Account

Effective date: 11 June 2026  ·  Last updated: 11 June 2026

1. About this page

This page explains how to permanently delete your BizTrack Tuckshop account, what data is removed when you do, what we are required to keep, and for how long. It applies to both parent and student accounts on the platform operated by BZ Tracking Solution (Pty) Ltd.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to use the app again later, you will need to sign up from scratch.

2. Before you delete: wallet balances (currently disabled)

The prepaid wallet is currently disabled, so no wallet balances exist. This section applies only if and when the wallet becomes available.

When the wallet is enabled, deleting an account does not automatically refund an unused wallet balance. If the student's wallet still has money in it, request a refund of the balance before deleting the account — after deletion, your identifying details are removed from our records, which makes verifying a refund request much harder. See section 5 of our Refund Policy for how unused balances are refunded on account closure.

3. Delete your account in the app

Parents:

  1. Open the parent web app at biztrack-tuckshop.web.app and log in as a parent.
  2. Go to the Balance screen.
  3. Open Settings at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Delete my account.
  5. Read the consequences screen, tap I understand — continue, then type DELETE to confirm.

Students:

  1. Open the app and go to your Profile.
  2. Tap Delete my account and follow the confirmation steps.

Deletion takes effect immediately: you are signed out of every device and can no longer log in to that account.

4. Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion by email:

Email: tuckshop@biztrack.co.za

Subject line: Account Deletion Request

Include the WhatsApp number registered on the account and, for a student account, the student's name and school. To protect your account, we verify every request with a one-time code sent to the registered WhatsApp number before deleting anything.

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 1 business day and to complete verified requests within 7 days.

5. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following happens immediately:

  • Your name is erased from our records.
  • Your WhatsApp number is removed and replaced with an anonymous placeholder.
  • Your login credentials are deleted and every active session is signed out.
  • The links between your account and any student profiles are removed.
  • Push-notification identifiers for your devices are deactivated.

For parents: deleting your account does not delete your children's accounts. Another linked parent (for example a co-parent) can still log in and manage them. To delete a child's account as well, use the student deletion flow in the app or include it in your email request.

6. What we keep, and for how long

Order history and payment transaction records (and wallet transaction records, once the wallet is enabled) are retained in anonymised form — they are no longer linked to any identifying detail about you. We keep these records because:

  • South African tax and financial legislation requires financial transaction records to be retained for a minimum of 5 years.
  • The tuckshop operator needs accurate, anonymous sales totals for accounting and dispute resolution.

This retention is permitted under section 14 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), which allows records to be kept where retention is required by law. Once the retention period expires, the records are destroyed.

Residual copies of deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten in the normal backup cycle. Backups are never used to restore deleted accounts.
